The Alpha Phi Alpha Foundation of Manasota

Greetings Friends,

The Alpha Phi Alpha Foundation of Manasota, Inc. partnership with the Xi Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., supports programs designed to enhance the lives of young men in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Our goal is to provide these young men with positive male role models through mentoring, leadership, and scholarship initiatives. These efforts are designed to provide young men with the tools necessary to develop the skills needed to continue on a career path while boosting academic performance.

Recently we implemented our Project Alpha program. Project Alpha is an educational program for males conducted by the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and our community partners. The program is designed to provide education, motivation, and skill building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy/fatherhood, and sexually transmitted diseases for young males ages 12-19 years. As a compliment to Project Alpha, we continue our mentoring programs with young men of all age groups in Manatee and Sarasota Counties. We expose the students to successful role models who are Business Executives, Educators, Doctors, Lawyers, Public Servants, and other professionals.

Each year scholarships are awarded to local high school students. Our scholarship recipients are attending colleges and universities throughout America and preparing for a variety of careers, including but not limited to aerospace engineering, business, acting, graphic design and education.
